0% Tax Increase May Not Be A Reality

The Chief Administrative Officer for Dryden says a zero percent tax increase may not be realistic.
The City has announced that they have to find $4-million to balance the budget.
Andre Larabie says they have to look at all options right now.
Larabie says they will try to make the budget as lean as they can without having a major impact on all of the services.
Council has been adamant this year about a 0% hike.
However, Larabie says we are living in a time where we aren’t even keeping up with the cost of living, but he is hoping to keep any hike below 1%
A special council meeting is scheduled for Friday morning at 10 o’clock, where a staff report on 2014 tax rates will be presented by the Treasurer.
