100 teams register for Walleye Masters

About 200 anglers will be out on Wabigoon Lake this weekend for the return of TbayTel’s Dryden Walleye Masters.

100 teams are registered for the annual fishing tournament with weigh-ins taking place at the Dryden Memorial Arena throughout June 17 and 18.

Flight times for the tournament are as follows:

– Flight One – 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
– Flight Two – 7:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
– Flight Three – 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This year is the 32nd annual Walleye Masters in Dryden after they hit their 30th anniversary in 2019 – but 2020 and 2021 events were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Team #59 of Scott Abraham and Frank Lombardo took last year’s top spot with a total of 34.46 lbs, walking away with $10,000 and a $20,000 AlumaCraft/Mercury boat package. The pair also caught the big fish of the weekend on Day 1 at 11.38 lbs.

The team of Jeff and Blair Dingwall won the event in 2019.
