All 13 premiers visit Washington to tackle tariff threat

All of the country’s premiers are visiting Washington.

The goal was to talk to U.S. officials about the impact of tariffs on Canadian exports.

New Brunswick Premier Susan Holt says it’s been a very positive and productive trip so far.

“So far, we’ve had excellent conversations with congressmen and women from a variety of different places—North Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Maine and more to come—that have really further reinforced the fact that these tariffs are going to have a negative impact on both new Brunswickers and Americans, as well as all Canadians,” she told reporters Wednesday.

She says the premiers all took the chance to reinforce how the U.S. and Canada are connected.

Holt adds that several senators are feeling direct impacts of tariffs in their areas.
