156kph Means Stunt Driving Charge

Weekend roads being what they were, someone still managed to ‘ping’ OPP Radar at 156 kph just outside of Dryden.

Via Twitter, Dryden OPP say a driver was stopped near Wehrstedt Road after being clocked at 66 kph over the posted speed limit.

A charge of ‘Stunt Driving’ means this driver faces an automatic 30 day License Suspension and their vehicle is impounded for fourteen days (even if the vehicle is a rental or a company vehicle). On conviction, the fine is between two and ten thousand dollars and they could also face up to six months in jail. Stunt Driving will also mean a massive increase in insurance rates.

No word on whether this motorist arrived at their destination in time, but it seems unlikely.
