The Ministry of Natural Resources says 168 fire rangers from northwestern Ontario are fighting wild fires out of province now.
Another 50 MNR fire fighters have been sent up north to help out with a number of blazes that are burning out of control in the Northwest Territories.
Right now, there are 80 fire crews in the north, 75 in British Columbia and 13 in Alberta.
The MNR says it’s processing more requests for assistance and more fire rangers could be heading west over the next few days.
