Pardons To Now Be Issued For Cannabis Possession Convictions

Anyone with a criminal record for simple possession of cannabis, can now apply for a pardon.

Minister of Justice David Lametti announced yesterday the coming into force of an act to provide no cost, expedited record suspensions.

If you have been convicted of simple possession, you can now apply to the Parole Board of Canada.

This eliminates the $631 fee and wait times.

Applicants will be eligible as long as they have competed their sentence.
