Ontario Releases Potential Changes For Moose Hunters

Some changes impacting moose hunting in Ontario.

The provincial government is now seeking public comment on a revised management strategy

It includes changes to how licenses are issued to encourage hunting parties and a new points system to determine how tags are distributed.

It would also reduce the maximum size of a hunting party to 10 and allow them a wide area to hunt from each other.

Those changes would go into effect in 2021.

The government’s proposals are now posted on the Environmental Registry for review until September 26th.

The recommendations come from public consultations, including a session in Dryden.
