Donation Drives Begin To Help Eagle Junction Owners

Donation drives are now starting for the owners of the Eagle Junction store, west of Dryden

The small business owners lost the popular store in a Wednesday evening fire.

Machin Fire has issued the following statement:

“At approximately 8:30 Wednesday evening, Machin Volunteer Fire & First Response Department was paged to a fire at Eagle Junction store on the corner of Highway 17 and Highway 594. Unfortunately, the firefighters arrived to find the building filled with smoke and flames becoming visible on the outside of the building and within minutes most of the building had become engulfed in flames. Machin Fire responded with 14 volunteers who were there fighting the fire until around 1:30AM. Volunteers from Oxdrift Fire Department also responded providing additional help with shuttling water from the Eagle River and giving Machin Firefighters a break as needed.

The devastating fire to this locally owned gas station and convenience store is a great loss to our community.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.”

Fundraising efforts are now underway to help the owners.
