Illegal Cigarettes Seized Near Dryden

Provincial Police continue to target those smuggling illegal tobacco through northwestern Ontario.

OPP stopped a pair of vehicles Sunday in Southworth Township, just east of Dryden.

Police say between both vehicles, 386 cases of illegal cigarettes were located.

The smokes carry a value of about $1,600,000.

Three people from Winnipeg and one person from Brampton, Ontario have all been charged with trafficking in contraband tobacco.

Names of the accused:

-Kazi ISLAM, 40 years old of Winnipeg, Manitoba
-Nafis KHAN, 23 years old of Winnipeg, Manitoba
-Sohan SINGH, 27 years old of Brampton, Ontario
-Kabir ZAMAN, 33 years old of Winnipeg, Mani
