2 traffic stops, 5 arrests for drug trafficking

Two traffic stops an hour apart have led to the arrest of five people on drug charges.

The Dryden OPP say they stopped a vehicle on Highway 594 Wednesday afternoon around 1:00.

A search of the vehicle uncovered some fentanyl and cocaine.

Three people from the Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation were arrested.

Around 2:00, police stopped another vehicle on Highway 11 just east of the Couchiching First Nation.

A quantity of cocaine was seized.

Two people from Couchiching were arrested on drug trafficking charges.

All five appeared in court today on the charges.
