U.S. Shoots Down Chinese Balloon

What’s being dubbed a ‘Chinese spy-balloon’ by U.S. officials was shot down over the weekend.

Military aircraft took action on Saturday and fired a shot off the coast of South Carolina.

President Joe Biden issued an order to take down the balloon on Wednesday, but they waited until it was over a body of water and not in harm’s way of anyone.

The U.S. viewed it as a violation of sovereignty.

The Chinese government says the balloon was for meteorological and scientific purposes.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Canada strongly supports the shootdown that violated North American airspace.
