COVID Numbers Drop In Kenora Area

The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting five new positive cases of COVID-19 today.

Unlike previous days the Tuesday case count is spread out across the region.

There are two cases in the Sioux Lookout region, one in Dryden/Red Lake, one in the District of Rainy River and one in the Kenora area.

There is also a probable case in the Kenora region.

There are now 74 active and 8 probable cases.

Sixty-six are in the Kenora area, four in the Sioux Lookout district and two each in Dryden/Red Lake and the Rainy River areas.

The test positivity rate from February 1-7 was 3.24% and it currently stands at 0.53% since the start of the pandemic.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is reporting 27 positive tests and 159 active cases.

There are currently 10 COVID-19 positive patients admitted to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, including 3 in the Intensive Care Unit

Ontario is reporting 964 new coronavirus cases on Family Day Monday and 904 new cases Tuesday.

There were 26 new deaths over the two day period.
