Province Now Allowing 40+ To Receive Vaccine

The Ford government says the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine will be offered to individuals 40 years old and over in pharmacies and primary care settings starting on Tuesday

That drops the previous eligible age of 55 and up.

Pharmacies in our area are limited to Dryden, Kenora and Fort Frances.

The Dryden outlet is Shoppers Drug Mart and you can book at Shoppers Booking

There have been growing calls for the province to make the vaccine more widely available as we see record numbers in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations amid a third wave and variants of concern.

Federal Health Minister Patty Hajdu stated Sunday that Ontario has the authority to allow the AstraZeneca vaccine to anyone over the age of 18.
