Kenora Bass International Crowns New Champs

There is a new winner for the Kenora Bass International.

Ian Waterer of Winnipeg and Motei Demers of Kenora led all three days to take home over $17,000 in prize money.

They weighed in 17.15 pounds of bass for a three-day total of 54.83 pounds.

Demers says it was a dream come true.

“I’ve done all of these tournaments over the years,” says Demers.

“I’ve never won any of them. This is definitely the one to win if you are going to do any of them.”

Second place went to past champs Adam Bachynski and Andrew Beernaert at 53.69 pounds.

Third place was another former championship team of Jamie Bruce and Bryan Gustafson at 53.46 pounds.

A total of 115 teams competed in the three-day tournament, which took last year off because of COVID-19.
