Premier Doug Ford On Fact Finding Mission In Northwest

Premier Doug Ford is touting the benefits of living in northwestern Ontario.

Ford made several appearances in Fort Frances, Atikokan, Rainy River, Manitou and Stratton Wednesday.

He stresses this area is a prime tourist destination with great people, food and fishing.

Ford says he enjoys his travels outside of Toronto.

“I just love getting out of that City and coming up here and first-hand you get to go into the Library, go into the OPP station, and go meet with the local people. Then you get a real connection to what’s going on.”

One of the highlights for Ford was touring Seven Generations Education Institute campus near Couchiching First Nation.

He talked about the incredible staff in place at the school.

“When you are elected and you are being premier or anyone else, you have two choices. Either stick in the bubble and listen to a bunch of bureaucrats and politicians or you get out and meet the real people and man do they make me feel welcome here.”

Ford was in Thunder Bay Tuesday.

He was joined by Kenora-Rainy River MPP and Minister Greg Rickford.
