The Dryden Food Bank is teaming up with the GM Ice Dogs to fight hunger in the community.
Those attending Thursday’s game at the Memorial Arena (7:30 pm) are urged to bring a bag of non-perishable food items.
Food Bank Manager Al Huckabay says there is always a need for a number of items including soup, canned meats, mac and cheese, cereal, canned fruits, vegetables and baby food.
Huckabay notes the need has not diminished with 100 more hampers going out a month to families compared to last year during the peak of the pandemic.
“The need is there and we are just so blessed to have the community of Dryden come along with us and help us meet the need of folks that are facing a lot of insecurities in their lives, especially with food.”
Huckabay notes financial donations will also be accepted.
