RCMP in eastern Manitoba are investigating a single vehicle crash.
The collision happened last Thursday afternoon just off Highway 1, on the exit ramp to Falcon Lake.
Police say a truck with a hydraulic crane for logging was attempting to go under the overpass when it hit the structure, causing it to come to an abrupt stop.
A driver in the vehicle following the truck immediately called 911, and came to the aid of the man.
However, the 77-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene despite attempts from emergency personnel to revive him.
Police say speed and alcohol weren’t factors.
