After a two year COVID forced hiatus, the Dryden Kinsmen Ice Fishing Derby is back.
Ryan Graham and Brad Coles were guests on the CKDR Morning Show Wednesday to promote the event, coming up this Sunday at the Government Dock.
Graham says, “We started this event event years and years ago with the whole idea that a lot of families can’t go afford to go on long, big vacations and especially with the gas prices the way they are, why not just bring out your family on Sunday. Have a great ‘family day’, you know, and watch the kids have some fun catching their first fish.”
The family fun event is open to everyone and registration opens at 11:00 am.
The fish derby runs from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
There will be cash prizes for the top three anglers as well as kids prizes.
All other funds raised supports community projects.
Entry is $20 per hole or $50 for a family of four. (2 adults, 2 children)
You can pay $10 for as many extra holes you like.
Ontario fishing regulations are in effect.
