Highway 105 Finally Open Outside Red Lake

Those living in the Red Lake/Ear Falls area can finally a breath a sigh of relief.

According to Ontario 511, Highway 105 about 20 kilometres south of Red Lake is now open.

It was closed last Saturday as a section of the road was washed out and flooding on other parts caused nothing but headaches for repair crews.

The damage left the community in isolation with essential products and other items of necessity unable to reach stores and residents.

The Highway reopened just before 10:00 Wednesday evening but motorists can still anticipate some delays.

Highway 105 just north of Vermilion Bay remains closed but there is a detour in place.

In the Dryden area, still some waiting for those stranded in Eaton-Rugby.

Highway 605 remains completely closed due to flooding between Highway 17 and Rugby Lake (end of the highway).

Residents in Pickle Lake are also still left in limbo as Highway 599, about 15 kilometres south of the community, remains closed in both directions.
