Red Lake Drops Final Game In Estevan, Saskatchewan

The Red Lake Miners are headed home but gained some valuable experience in their first National Junior Hockey Championship.

The SIJHL champs ended their Centennial Cup run Tuesday with a 6-1 loss to Collège Français de Longueuil.

Hometown hero Jordan Baraneksy was once again front and centre scoring the only Miners goal.

He finished the tournament with three goals.

Red Lake was held to only 18 shots on net.

Meanwhile, Dryden’s Ben Hackl and the Dauphin Kings lost a heartbreaker, 2-1 to Flin Flon in a shootout.

The Kings, poised to advance to the playoff round, end the round-robin today (Thursday) against the Soo Thunderbirds.

Game time is 5:00 p.m. and you can watch Hackl and the Kings live on the Hockey Canada website.
