Open House Monday At Dryden French Language School

A push is on to boost enrolment numbers at École catholique de l’Enfant-Jésus school in Dryden.

The school on Airport Road is focused on teaching French as a first language, develop strong bilingualism and fully immerse students in the French culture.

Principal Claudine Savage says, “Of course we have other attributes that make use stand out from other schools in the region. Being a smaller school we offer smaller class sizes.”

Savage says they offer a ratio of 3 students to 1 instructor in every classroom which allows for more one-on-one attention from the teacher.

She adds, “We also put a focus on 21st century competencies that allows our students to flourish not only at school but as citizens of the world. And we’re very lucky to have a very vast and natural outdoor environment. So we do a lot of extensive classroom learning in all areas of the curriculum outside.”

Savage says, “We’re very proud of the wealth and cultural diversity of our French-language heritage. We encourage students to reach their full potential, not only academically, but also culturally and socially. Simply put: working, learning and playing in French just becomes a way of life here.”

The school is hosting an Open House on Monday, June 20 starting at 5:30 p.m.

There will be tours, food, beverages, games, activities and live music.

It is open to the public.

If you want to participate email eej@csdcab.on.ca or call 937-4249 to confirm your attendance.
