I Need To ‘Limb’er Up

It may not seem like much loss in comparison to what’s still standing but the quick, violent and very windy storm that passed through Sunset Country last night took out a significant piece of my front yard, beautiful, giant maple tree. Yes I’m attached to it…..except in the fall when there’s a million leaves to rake up!!

Mother Nature was definately making here strength known through the region last night as very loud storm cells passed through the area lighting up the sky, dumping some quick bursts of rain and yes the strong winds causing some destruction. Or maybe I was the only one to experience some loss last night due to the high winds?? It might be a sign of someone trying to tell me to get my butt off the lazy-boy and do something productive? So I did. I went outside after I was alerted by the rest of the family that there was a broken ‘monster’ branch that had fallen and was leaning on the chain-link fencing. I lifted the 500 pound tree limb (or maybe it was 5 pounds) off the fence and gently laid it to the ground. Stood over it in silence and memory of what was once life…..and then went back inside the house. As of this morning the tree limb is still on the curb waiting for its’ final destination to be determined. Don’t suppose I could super glue it back in place on the tree?! I’ll have to think about that for the rest of the day….while in my lazy-boy….with the wife, arms crossed, staring at me, waiting for me to do something and not be like what I’m ususally sitting in…..a….lazy….boy! So far, unlike the maple tree, all of my limbs are still intact. So far. Another ‘storm’ might be developing.
