The Kenora Catholic District School Board, which oversees operations at St. John School in Red Lake, is projecting a slight deficit for the coming school year.
Trustees approved the 2022-23 budget on Tuesday night.
Superintendent of Business Services Alison Smith says the board will have $32.8 million in revenue next year, but that will be offset by just over $33 million in expenses.
The budget for bussing is estimated at over $1.352 million and the province has earmarked $1.19 million.
That leaves the board with a deficit of $145,000, but Smith says the government is currently going through a transportation review, so that number might change.
Overall, the board will be getting about $1.1 million more than last year.
