Sponsorships Suspended Amidst Hockey Canada Sexual Assault Allegations

The list of companies suspending support of the World Juniors and Hockey Canada is growing after sexual assault allegations.

Sponsorships from companies including Tim Hortons, Imperial Oil, Scotiabank, Telus, and Canadian Tire have been pulled from the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships.

This comes after allegations that eight CHL players sexually assaulted a young woman in London, Ontario in 2018.

Companies have spoken out appalled at the allegations.

Hockey Canada reportedly paid an out-of-court settlement.

The allegations have not been proven in court.

The 2023 World Juniors are scheduled to be played in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Moncton, New Brunswick.
