Cocaine Seized In Fort Frances Drug Bust

A seizure of drugs in Fort Frances has resulted in the arrest of two individuals.

Provincial Police spotted a rental car parked in a parking lot while on routine patrol just after midnight on June 22.

Officers approached the vehicle and two people fled the scene.

An investigation revealed evidence of drug activity.

OPP found about 580 grams of cocaine/crack cocaine, over $19,000 cash, three cell phones, scales and other evidence of drug trafficking.

Police say 46-year Diane Smith of Naicatchewenin First Nation and 43-year-old Richard Ronmark of Fort Frances both face charges of trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
