Celebrating National Fishing Week

This is National Fishing Week, an annual summertime event to help Canadians experience the thrill of recreational fishing.

Phil Morlock is the Government Affairs Chair for the Canadian National Sportfishing Foundation and he says this is the perfect time to hit the water following two years of isolation and stress.

In addition to having a positive impact on mental wellness, Morlock say it’s an easy and affordable way to connect with family and friends.

He is encouraging anglers to take a young person out fishing or someone who hasn’t tried it before.

Morlock notes fishing is a simple way to connect or reconnect with someone you know.
