Federal Funding For Local First Nations

Several communities and organization in northwestern Ontario will share in funding for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation commemorations.

The federal government is issuing cheques totaling more than 4 million dollars across the country.

In our region, groups in Sioux Narrows, Bearskin Lake, Shoal Lake. Lac Seul and Mishkeegogamang will each receive $10,000 for various activities.

Similar funding is being awarded to Lakehead University and the Gord Downie and Chanie Wenjack Fund.

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is September 30
