Seven Active Fires Burning In Northwest

It’s late in the forest fire season but crews remain active.

There were no new starts Tuesday, but a number of holdovers from Monday are reported.

One was on a peninsula on Red Lake, about 10 kilometres northeast of Cochenour.

The small blaze has been called out.

There are now 7 active fires burning in the Northwest Region.

Two are not under control, 1 is being held, 3 are under control and one is being observed.

The fire hazard is mainly high across the district, with pockets of moderate to low north of Sioux Lookout.
