Provincial Cash For Trail Development In Dryden

The Ontario government is providing $447,891 to help Dryden enhance its trail system.

The upgrades will be made along the riverfront Signature Trail system.

The project will include essential repairs, landscaping, wayfinding and the installation of interpretative panels along the trail.

The improvements will also allow for easier access to the trail system, additional seating, and improve the overall user experience.

The money comes from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation and is aimed at boosting tourism and economic growth.

Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford made the announcement Thursday as part of a community tour.

Rickford says he’s happy to be back in the riding to help support local communities.

“We had a great result in the election on June 2. With that comes an incredible responsibility, one that I make it my business to live up to and ensure that our communities are competitive, desirable places to work, and live and play.”

He adds, “We want to get back to business. The machinery of government takes a couple of months to get around but folks will see me around the riding as they often do but making the kinds of announcements that they can live, feel and experience in their communities.”

Rickford also stopped by the Milestone Rink to see how a government investment of more than $185,000 is helping to remove and replace the aging asphalt surface, and to paint lines for both tennis and pickleball courts.
