Three People Charged In Drug Trafficking Case

An investigation into drug trafficking in the Atikokan area has resulted in multiple arrests and charges.

Provincial Police searched a home last week and officers seized illicit substances, including cocaine, fentanyl, cash and items associated with drug trafficking.

OPP say 37 year old Rodney Benjamin of Atikokan, 19 year old Sherquan Remy of Toronto and 40 year old Amanda Malenfant of Atikokan all face a total of three charges.

Charge breakdown:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid – contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
