Sioux Lookout is welcoming provincial funding to enhance security in the community.
The municipality has received a $48,000 grant to install Closed-Circuit TV cameras in key locations in the downtown core.
The municipality will match the funding resulting in a $96,000 investment.
Mayor Doug Lawrance says the new tools will assist Provincial Police in helping to solve crime and make the community an even safer place to live.
The municipality will manage and maintain the system and will respond to requests for specific footage from the OPP.
