Bragging rights were on the line recently as the Beyak Automotive Group hosted its first ever “Cup 72” golf event.
The fun outing was held at the Sioux Lookout Golf and Country Club (SLGCC) and the format was Ryder Cup inspired team match play between a team from Eagles Landing in Dryden and a team from Sioux Lookout.
With GM well established in both communities on either end Highway #72, the name of the event was fitting.
The Dryden team was comprised of the top four finishers from the men’s league championships: Jason Jewett, Trevor Szmon, Ray Heitto and Al Markowski.
The SLGCC foursome was comprised from their club championship: Matt Gain, Shane Legros, Cortez Favot and Ronan Raspadp.
Sioux Lookout captured the championship earning two out of three points.
Match 1: Matt Gain earned one point over Jason Jewett
Match 2: Shane Legros earned on point over Al Markowski
Match 3: Trevor Szmon and Ray Heitto earned one point over Cortez Favot and Ronan Raspado
