Health Unit Releases Latest COVID Data

Good news and bad news in the latest number from the Northwestern Health Unit in terms of COVID-19.

The wastewater sampling that has been done in Dryden and Kenora shows a continued decrease of the incidence of COVID locally.

On the downside, the number of positive active high risk cases still remains relatively high.

The most recent statistics have about 150 people testing positive in PCR testing.

The Health Unit has changed the way it reports results, relying on wastewater testing, because it feels its a more accurate way of determining the level of the virus in the community, though
only Kenora and Dryden are being tested.
