Survivors of federal Indian Day Schools in Canada have less than a month to submit claims for compensation.
A settlement with the federal government reached in 2019 will provide each survivor between $10,000 to $200,000, based on the harm experienced.
The deadline to file a claim was extended to January 13 of next year
Indian Day Schools operated similar to residential schools, except students attended classes during the day and returned to their families at night.
