Bedard Sets Records, Canada Advances At World Juniors

A nail-biter at Scotiabank Centre in Halifax.

Connor Bedard’s second goal of the game in overtime lifted Team Canada over Slovakia 4-3 in their World Junior quarter-final last night.

Over 10-thousand fans were elated as Bedard went through three Slovaks and deked out the goalie to send Canada to the semi-finals against Team USA Wednesday at 5:30.

The 17-year old future NHLer also set the Canadian record for most goals, points and single-tournament points at the World Juniors.

Czechia will face Sweden in the other semi tomorrow afternoon.
