A former resident of Lac Seul First Nation has been named to the Order of Canada.
Patricia Margaret Ningewance recently received the honour.
The federal government says she was recognized for her contributions to the vitality of Indigenous languages as an Anishinaabemowin teacher, author and publisher.
Ningewance now lives in Winnipeg
