WestJet and pilots union reach tentative agreement

A sigh of relief if you’ve got a WestJet flight booked.

The Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l union says it has a tentative agreement with the airline.

The deal averts a strike which was set to begin early Friday morning.

That walkout by around 1800 pilots could have led to thousands of travel disruptions.

The airline says it will take time to completely resume services. Many flights were cancelled in advance of a potential walkout.

The deal will need to be ratified by pilots in the coming days.
