“It’s okay not to be okay” – National Suicide Prevention Day

National Suicide Prevention Day – September 10, 2025
“It’s okay not to be okay.” ❤️‍🩹
Today marks National Suicide Prevention Day, a time to reflect, raise awareness, and foster open, compassionate conversations about mental health. It’s a reminder that reaching out—for help or to help—is a powerful act of courage and care. 🫂
Whether you’re someone who needs to talk, or someone being asked to listen, your presence matters. If a friend, colleague, or loved one opens up to you, try to simply listen without judgment or the need to “fix” things. Sometimes, the most meaningful support we can offer is our time, empathy, and understanding. 👂
If you’re unsure how to support someone who may be struggling, here’s a helpful resource: Understanding Suicide and Finding Help
If you or someone you know needs immediate support, please reach out to one of these resources:
9-1-1
For emergencies or if you or someone is in immediate danger. 🚨
9-8-8 – National Suicide Crisis Helpline
Call or text 24/7 for free, confidential support. ☎️
Hope for Wellness Helpline – 1-855-242-3310

There have been moments in my own life when I wish I had known about these resources. Today, I don’t take them for granted. 🙌
In honour of the friends we’ve lost and those still fighting silent battles—you are not alone. 💜
Please, reach out. You are loved. You matter. ✨
