Highway 17 west of Kenora open again

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation says Highway 17 west of Kenora is now open.

Traffic started moving around 10:00 this morning, after the Trans-Canada was closed for over 12 hours due to a fatal collision.

The OPP say two SUV’s collided near Burma Road.

Police say one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the other SUV sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Lake of The Woods District Hospital by Northwest EMS.
