Ignace recommits to NWMO process

As the decision to locate a deep geological nuclear waste repository gets closer, the Town of Ignace is re-committing to the process.

At it’s council meeting last week, the town passed a resolution to continue with site selection.

The Nuclear Waste Management Organization is expected to make a final decision by next year, and Ignace is one of two communities being considered.

Acting mayor Kim Baigrie says the town has the opportunity to continue to participate in this process with NWMO.

She adds the public will also have ample opportunity to participate in the process.
