Drug trafficking arrest made in Sioux Lookout

Two people have been arrested by police in Sioux Lookout on drug trafficking charges.

The Sioux Lookout OPP say they were joined by the Crime Units in Kenora, Ignace and Dryden as well as officers from the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service.

A search warrant was executed on Wednesday on a home in Sioux Lookout.

Police say they seized some cocaine and oxycodone as well as Canadian currency and other items associated with drug trafficking.

A 24 year man from Toronto and a 29 year old from Sioux Lookout face a number of charges including trafficking, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and property obtained by crime.

The two accused have been remanded into custody and a scheduled to appear in Sioux Lookout Court at a later date.
