Three of 12 winners of the James Bartleman Indigenous Youth Creative Writing Awards are from northwestern Ontario.
Kentley Gardener from Thunder Bay, and Keilyn Linklater and Tish Tookate were honored for their poetry submissions.
In addition to citation, they each win $2,500.
There are several categories for off-reserve, junior on-reserve and senior on-reserve submissions.
This year the awards were presented for 2020, 2021 and 2022.
