Sioux Lookout OPP confirms Taser incident

The OPP in Sioux Lookout are providing their side of an incident earlier this month.

Police had to use a Taser on a combative woman in the early morning hours of July 10th.

A video of the arrest was posted on social media.

The incident began after officer had stopped the woman after she tresspassed on private property.

She began punching and grabbing at the officers belt, which contained use of force weapons.

That’s when a Taser was employed.

A second woman interfered in the arrest and was also charged.

Both woman have been released from custody and are to appear in Sioux Lookout Court on August 8th.
