Poilievre visits Kenora and Thunder Bay today

Federal opposition leader Pierre Poilievre has been touring across the country this summer rallying up the support of Conservatives.

Today, Poilievre is making stops in Northwestern Ontario to launch his latest campaign call Axe the Tax.

Poilievre says they are taking direct aim at the Carbon Tax, which is making life more unfordable.

“For northern Ontario families who have long distances to travel, large spaces to heat, cold weather in which to do it, food that has to be shipped long distances, the Trudeau Tax is an attack on northern Ontario communities,” Poilievre said prior to his speaking engagement at Perch Bay Marina in Keewatin.

Poilievre adds that instead of the Carbon Tax the Conservatives would concentrate on more green energy projects.

“Our plan is to make carbon-free energy more affordable rather than making traditional oil and gas more expensive. A Poilievre-led government would green light green projects, like more nuclear, hydro-electricity, carbon capture storage.”

Poilievre is heading to Thunder Bay for a similar event at the Da Vinci Centre at 6:30 Monday night.
