There won’t be any banking options in Ignace by the end of September.
Alterna Credit Union has announced it will be closing it’s doors as of September 15th.
In a release, Alterna says it was “unable to overcome the insurmountable challenge of hiring local staff for the branch, and the difficult decision was made to close the Ignace branch”.
The Dryden and Ignace branches of Alterna are being combined into one and Alterna members in Ignace will have to travel to Dryden to get branch services.
It adds the mobile and on-line banking platforms will also be available.
