The Kenora District Services Board and the Sioux Lookout Friendship Accord are sharing $4 million in funding from the province.

The money will go towards the creation of 16 new support treatment beds in Sioux Lookout.

Michael Tibollo, the Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions made the announcement Tuesday afternoon.

In addition, the funding will be used to support 15 new addiction treatment beds and 6 withdrawal management beds.

Those beds will be available by the end of the year.
