The Fort Frances Muskies started the Winnipeg High School Football League season in impressive fashion.
The Muskies downed their NorWOSSA cousins, the Dryden Eagles, 47-7 Friday afternoon at home.
The lone bright spot for the Eagles was a 92-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Keegan MacLeod in the first half.
Otherwise, it was all Muskies, as they scored both offensively and defensively.
Nose tackle Tucker Calder scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery in the end zone, and defensive back Seamus Barkley ran one in for score on an interception.
Barkley also scored a TD on a running play, as did Alex Kreger and Ben Huziak.
Quarterback Parker Booth threw a TD pass to Jack Davis for the Muskies’ other major score.
Hayden Beckett kicked two field goals.
The Muskies travel to Winnipeg next Friday to take on the Tec Voc Hornets.
The Hornets were shut out in their first game of the season, 42-0, by the Beaver Brae Broncos on Thursday.
The Eagles are home next week for a game against the Churchill Bulldogs.
