Thistles lose in shootout

The Kenora U18 AAA Thistles opened the 2023/2024 campaign with a point.

The Thistles were beaten in a shootout 3-2 by the Winnipeg Bruins Friday night at the Moncrief Construction Sports Center.

Jack Noel got the scoring started in the second, his first as a Thistle, with an assist from Cayson Lambert. Both played in their home town of Dryden last season.

Cole Bodnar scored the second goal for the Thistles.

Overtime was unable to settle anything and the Bruins won it in an eight player shootout.

Next up for the Thistles is a game against the Eastman Selects Sunday afternoon in Beausejour.
