Firearms and drug trafficking charges laid

The Kenora OPP have arrested three people for drug trafficking in the Minto area.

Police conducted a traffic stop Monday afternoon around 12:45 after receiving a weapons complaint.

During their investigation, police seized what is suspected to be cocaine.

A warrant was also conducted on a local residence and during their search officers seized a sawed off shotgun and ammunition.

The 34 year old and 66 year old men from Kenora face charges of trafficking cocaine, as well as unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon among other charges.

They were held in custody pending a court appearance in Kenora on Tuesday.

The third person a 30 year old from Northwest Angle #33 has been charged with trafficking.

A court appearance has been set in Kenora on November 30th.
