Online survey finds Canadians will spend less this Christmas

It’s time to start thinking about holiday shopping.

An annual FedEx survey found many gift-giving Canadians will do their shopping online.

More than half of those polled in the Holiday Shopping Survey said they prefer to shop online compared to in-store.

But around 70 percent said they are somewhat worried about package theft.

Over a quarter noted they’ve had their packages stolen in the past.

Eighty-five percent of Canadians expect to face more budget pressures this year when shopping. 37 percent intend to spend less than they did last year.

The online survey was conducted from October 1 to 5, 2023 with over 1500 Canadians.
